    Description
This is an original (one-of-a-kind) gelatin silver photograph [4-1/4" x 2-1/2"] ~ uncaptioned but was with another captioned photo that listed the man's name; I found him on the 1910 Knoxville, Tennessee Federal Census ~ his name was Gaines Armbrister (also spelled Gains); for several years he was a live-in servant at the home of Dr. Charles H. Davis and his wife Hortense (the photographer), who lived at 1404 Laurel Ave., Knoxville ~ [note: by the 1920 census, the widowed Hortense was living in Norfolk, VA]
~ In VERY GOOD condition, but has a good deal of still-adhered black album paper stuck to the verso side
