    Description

January 1925 Townsend Harris Hall High School Yearbook in
    New York, NY
    for sale.
This yearbook features the Senior High School Portrait Photo of Adam Clayton Powell Jr.  He was the first person of African American descent that was elected to Congress.  He served 12 terms in the U.S. House Of Representatives. Powell had a very interesting life and career. You can read more about him from the U.S. Congress' website
https://history.house.gov/People/Detail/19872 .  This yearbook also includes a newspaper clipping of Powell from later in his life.  Powell represented the Harlem area of New York City and was also a pastor.  The high school where Powell attended is one of the top ranked high schools in the USA.
Adam Powell's Wikipedia page can be found here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Clayton_Powell_Jr.
I did not check every page of this year book and there is handwriting in this yearbook. Please review the photos. This yearbook would be great for history collectors of American American and Black Americana items. This yearbook would also be good for alumni of this school or people that are researching their ancestors.  The name of this yearbook is
    Crimson and Gold 1925
.  There are not a lot of year books from this high school that become available for purchase.  Buy this yearbook before somebody else comes along and gets it first.
***With all yearbooks, especially vintage yearbooks, there is a possibility that there will be handwritten notes and messages on some or most of the pages. I did not check every page of the yearbook so there might be some pages missing, holes, mold, water damage, or other signs of wear and tear.  Please keep this in mind.  Please review the photos to get a better idea of how the yearbook looks.  I typically take many photos of the actual year book that is being offered for sale so that you can get a better idea of the yearbook's condition.
